Izabella is available for adoption.

She is 2 years old and weighs 21 lbs. (Should be 14 lbs.)

Her adoption fee is $600.00.

Meet sweet Izabella!  She is 2 ½ years old and currently 21 pounds.  We are working on losing some weight.  The vet said she has about 7 lbs. to lose.  With the change in her kibble and lots of long walks, we are hoping to see a change in her waistline.

Izabella has been enjoying watching the squirrels from my living room window.  We have worked hard at not barking at people and pets walking by. Now she seems to like to watch where they are going and what they are doing.  She has come a long way in a short period of time.

On the rainy and cold days of this past week.   Bella and I took advantage of being indoors  by playing with all her toys.  As you can see in the picture, there are plenty to choose from.  Her favorite seems to be "Lamb Chop".

She absolutely must be in a home with NO OTHER DOGS.  Izabella needs to be the princess, the center of someone’s universe.  A home where her human is home most of the day is important and something Izabella really craves.

Izabella is not only adorable but very smart as well! She LOVES to go for walks, loves to go for rides in the car and enjoys water (bath time is fun until the blow dryer appears.  LOL).

A home with a fenced yard is a MUST.  It allows this girl the freedom to be off leash running after toys and balls and to scurry around  just like all young dogs do.

Izabella likes to make others laugh and is quite a clown. She throws toys and treats in the air!  She will play alone if no one has time for play but really loves the interaction of playing with her human.  Foster mom throws the toy for Izabella and she will run to get it and return it to her.

She loves people, though like most Yorkies, she should not be in a home with young children, an all adult home for this girl will be a perfect fit.  She is also a big kisser, if you leave the house for a few minutes, it is like you have been gone all day because Izabella will smother you in kisses with her excitement!

Izabella is staying with Liz in Lincoln Park, NJ.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
