He is 10 months old and weighs just a smidge over 8 pounds. His adoption fee is $700.00. Thank you for stopping by to say “Hello” to sweet Cubby Bear! He is a joy and oh, so super sweet! He’s playful, super-friendly, loves going for long walks, enjoys riding in the car, he’s very curious, doesn’t mind fireworks and thunderstorms and has a wonderful appetite! He sleeps soundly through the night enjoying his little puppy dreams. His coat is beautiful, shiny black and tan. He is a little squirmy, but his happy tail wags during vet visits and trips to the groomer. He will need an active family, with another young dog in the house that likes to play. A fenced yard is a must, giving him the freedom to run and play safely off leash. Obedience classes are a requirement to help Cubby be the best that he can be. Cubby was surrendered by a man finding him in a Nike shoebox by the side of the road. He looked just like a little bear in his "baby" pictures, hence the name Cubby Bear! How befitting is that? When Cubby first came into rescue, he wasn’t feeling well, and it was found that there was an open vessel that should have closed down when he was born (this is a very common defect in Yorkies). This shunting vessel was allowing blood to bypass his liver. The shunt was surgically closed on September 7th, and he was retested on October 19th - with all results being in the normal range! He is a healthy little boy – not needing any medications or a special diet!
