Sick and scared. Turned in to rescue because her mother was financially unable to care for her. Hello my name is Isabel, but everyone calls me Izzy. I was born on 12/6/03 so that makes me almost 4 years young. Save a Yorkie Rescue and my Foster Mom saved me from a very bad situation. I was so sick and had not eaten anything in days. I was so weak and and had lost a lot of weight. I left my old house on a cold rainy night and my Foster Mom held me and gave me water all night.
She took me to the nice man in a white coat that gave me medicine to make me better. He told us that other than needing to eat food that was good for me and getting rid of my fleas I was in pretty good shape. I have gotten better each day. So far I have shown my Foster Mom and Dad what an extraordinary dog I am. I sit on command, I stay, I heel when walking and don't pull on the leash. I am friendly to cats and other dogs (my Foster Yorkie sister Jazzie and I play together). I play ball, and I am mostly housebroken and when I can't make it outside I use the wee wee pads. My Foster Mom says I am the perfect little princess. I have to admit I am a little scared of men at first, my Foster Dad held me and loved on me for hours on Sunday as we watched football and Nascar together on the recliner. But as long as you are patient with me and use a loving voice, your wish is my command. I also am used to sleeping in the bed with someone, but don't worry I don't snore. You can ask my Foster Mom all about me, she loves to brag about her perfect little princess. If you think you have a loving spot in your heart for me please fill out an application and one of the volunteer will contact you. My adoption donation is $400. My mom's name is Kym and I am such a good girl.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
