Brother and sister? Maybe. Best friends, definitely! Our little girl, Peeper, and little boy, Brody, have had only each other for their entire 10 months of life. They were taken in by an owner to be euthanized, but ethics and morals prevailed when a wise and compassionate vet intervened and called our rescue. Having been caged under a carport, with no human interaction, has made them very skittish and fearful. The opposite of what anyone could imagine for puppies. Due to extreme neglect, they are afflicted with demodectic mange and are undergoing treatment. As soon as their bodies are strong enough, they will be spayed and neutered. When the mange is controlled and cured, their fur will grow in. They now have a loving foster family, good food, fresh water, clean, soft beds, and room to play outdoors in the sunshine as much as they like. Everything that every dog deserves! Their foster mother asks that you do not call or write unless you have already filled in an online application. Save A Yorkie Rescue will not adopt to anyone who has not applied, had a phone interview, and a home visit completed. This is a process that takes time and requires patience on your part! Many hours spent answering phone calls and responding to emails from people who have not yet applied takes valuable time away from the puppies. If potential adopters do their part, their foster mother will be able to do hers which is to physically and emotionally aid in the healing of two sweet little souls and prepare them for their permanent home, hopefully by mid August. It does take time... Peeper and Brody will be making their debut at Yorkie Day in Reading, PA on Saturday, July 12. Please see the website for details and reservations so that you may meet them in person! More about PeeperGood with Dogs Special Needs: Demodectic mange Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit organization operating on donations from Yorkie lovers who care. Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult. ADOPTION AREA Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's.
