Mark

Mark found his forever home and went to go live his best life with the Millers on May 2nd. I think all my fosters are exceptional and Mark was even more so. He is currently an only pup and getting all the love and attention he deserves and a sibling may be added to the family at some point. My pack and I had a difficult time letting him go but I kept hearing my mentor Bonnie Hensel saying “ The dogs always end up exactly where they are supposed to be”. I think that is true in Mark’s case! I forgot to get a picture because I was blubbering like a fool and concentrating on the other piece of Bonnie’s advice-“ Get a milkshake”. I don’t know why but the milkshake does help. I am attaching a photo of Mark sitting next to his new dad. I know he is very happy! Congratulations Mark!!!

Mallory

Mallory and Millie are foster fails and have officially been adopted! They won me over immediately on the ride home. Mallory settled in instantly and rolled over for belly rubs. Millie was more nervous but quickly snuggled into my lap as close as possible. Despite everything they had been through they both trusted me and bonded right away. My husband took a little longer for them to warm up but as soon as they learned he was the main care taker and source of food, they were soon his shadow as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better fit. Millie and Mallory have such intense bursts of puppy energy and are up for anything. They go with us everywhere and we’re even planning a camping trip with them once the weather warms up. Then after burning off the excess energy they just want to snuggle in for their cuddles. We love them so much and couldn’t be happier to be their forever home. Congratulations Millie and Mallory!

McGuyver

MacGyver is a special little guy who has finally found his well-deserved forever home! MacGyver unfortunately came into rescue with a lot of baggage from his past. He was passed around from home to home, waiting for someone to call him their own. When MacGyver first came into foster with me, it was evident that he had a lot of learning to do in order to reach his fullest potential. I could tell right away that MacGyver was a very bright pup and it proved to be true when we started training. He picked up obedience commands and behavioral concepts very quickly and proved to be very driven to learn new skills. We spent these past few months really honing in on his behavioral issues to gear him up for adoption. It was not easy on either part but MacGyver woke up each morning ready to tackle the day's challenge. After screening many potential adopters and feeling a sense of lost hope for finding the right home for his needs, Jenn and Brock seemed to fall from the sky into our laps. Jenn and Brock fell in love with MacGyver and saw him for all of his wonderful qualities. That being said, they also understood the path MacGyver has been through thus far and were willing to do whatever it took to get this boy a forever home! We were extremely lucky that Jenn and Brock live so close to my home where MacGyver was being fostered. Since we live so close to each other, I am looking forward to seeing MacGyver again soon for grooming, training, pet sitting, and more fun! Congratulations McGuyver!!!

Miki

Quality not quantity! In the end it didn’t matter how few applications came in for Miki because all that mattered was the one that was submitted by his now forever family, the Gaetas. In 2020, the Gaetas adopted JoJo (Calvin/Cal), one of my fosters from SAYR. So, when Karen Gaeta called me to talk about the possibility of adopting Miki, I had no doubt that this could be the only application that he needed to give him his forever home. A little backstory…a few weeks before Miki came into our lives, Karen had texted me to let me know that sadly Cal had passed over the rainbow bridge. Tragically, they had also lost their first beloved Yorkie, Chloe, a few months earlier. The family missed them terribly. When Miki arrived at our home and became available for adoption, Karen understandably, wasn’t sure if her family was ready to bring a new pup into their lives. We continued to talk and text, sending pictures and updates on Miki’s adorable personality. It wasn’t long before they fell in love. The heart has the astonishing ability to expand. And welcoming a new dog into your life after losing one can be like discovering a secret chamber within your heart. Cal and Chloe showed the Gaetas that they have unlimited amounts of love in their hearts, and of course, that life is better shared with dogs. So we celebrate Cal and Chloe’s memories and the joy that Miki will bring as they welcome this new family member into their home. Congratulations to all!!!
