Sir Walter Raleigh It started in Albany, New York. He flew to Monmouth Airport in Wall, New Jersey. He came scared and afraid. I just hugged him to make him feel safe and that is where his adventure began. We have had our ups and downs. The ups are many, the downs are only one....potty training. Belly bands became our friend. He learned to trust me very quickly. He is just a snuggle bug. He loves the car, so he has been shopping, the boardwalk, the beach and outdoor dining. He was great at all of them. His new chapter is with his new parents, Alice and Dave. They came once and he was still afraid. They weren't sure what to do. After being with me a little longer he became a more confident dog. Today he saw them for the second time. It was so great to see his progress. Alice just wanted to hold him. I think she has a new snuggle buddy. After she snuggled with him, daddy, Dave got his chance. Now it was time to meet his siblings, Franklin and Pickles. We were nervous because Pickles is blind, but it went great!!! Franklin and Sir Walter (now Yogi) just laid in the grass next to each other. I'm sure he will love his new family since they were so kind and patient with him. I love you, Yogi!!! Have the best life ever!!! Congratulations Sir Walter Raleigh!!!
Madeline Saturday was a bitter sweet day for foster mom and dad as Madeline went to her fur-ever home with new mom and dad Jessica and Pierre. Madeline seemed to fit right in and was happy to get to know new siblings Angel and Harney. Madeline was an absolute joy to foster! She is the most laidback, always happy little Yorkie I have ever met and we wish her all the best as she lives her best life! Congratulations Madeline!!!
Pippa Around noon on the 9th, Barbara texted that she was almost at my house, so I got Pippa ready for a quick walk but as we rounded the corner of the house and stepped on to the driveway, Barbara car pulled up. Immediately, Pippa pulled on the leash and ran towards Barbara and her daughter! This was so out of character for Pippa, but it put my heart at ease to see her so excited to meet them. Both Barbara and her daughter dropped to their knees to pet Pippa while laughing and talking to her. After getting acquainted for a few minutes, we went into the house with Barbara and her daughter happily chatting about how cute Pippa was and doting on her. I must say, Pippa really put them to the test because while she was very welcoming and really seemed to like them, she also took the opportunity to show her mischievous side while demonstrating her climbing skills. I provided a brief history on Pippa warts and all! Then timidly asked if they wanted to complete the adoption application. Barbara looked at me and said there is no way I am leaving here without her. I feel like I was on autopilot for the rest of the meeting as we reviewed the adoption application and reviewed the contents of the goody bag I prepared for them. I did not think that my heart could handle watching them pull away with my sweet girl, so I said goodbye at the door. Once I shut the door, I could finally give in to my feelings until I realized that I forgot to take a picture of them! I raced out the door and ran over to their car. I imagine they were concerned about the crazy woman running towards their car and they probably assumed I was going to wrench Pippa from their arms. Relief flooded their faces when I explained that I simply forgot to take a picture. So, I am sitting at my desk with an empty lap and a sad heart typing my final update on Pippa but knowing that she has found her forever home with a wonderful family who will be able to stay home with her all day and knowing that I played a part in helping Pippa to trust more readily is more rewarding than I can say! Congratulations Pippa!!!
Cheerio Cheerio has found his forever home!! We had a wonderful visit with Joe and Nancy, Cheerio's new mom and dad. Within 1 minute, they knew he was going home with them. We visited for 4 hours and let Cheerio and his new sister get to know each other. We couldn't ask for a better forever family to adopt him! He made his journey to Reading, PA on Monday, the 16th, and has settled in. We love the pictures and videos they have been sending this week. They love Cheerio as much as we do, he's going to have a great life. Congratulations Cheerio!!!
Bella Grace On Monday May 3rd Bella met her new mommy and the final stop in her beautiful life. Waiting in the wings and unknown to so many was Phyllis. For so long Phyllis had tried again and again to find her forever fur baby to be by her side and allow her to give the love and affection she so wanted to share. There were so many attempts only to result in a message that she received again and again sorry that dog is not available. Then after so much disappointment and the reality that good comes to those that wait was little Ms. Bella Grace! As a foster mother and adopter (foster failure) of three beautiful babies I can only say that this was the perfect adoption. I wish I could share with you the video taken by Phyllis friend Stacey while driving to my house for the meet and greet. It would absolutely bring tears to your eyes ( it did mine) of the joy that this 80 year old woman showed in anticipation of meeting Bella. Stacey and I stayed in touch repeatedly and with pictures and videos sent to me over 2 days it was absolutely clear that this was a match made in heaven! I am and will continue to be overjoyed by this adoption. I know first hand what hard work and dedication goes into ensuring the best placement of our rescues and the money spent to absolutely ensure that the dogs get the best possible medical attention. Those not involved In this process would absolutely be amazed! Congratulations Bella Grace!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
