Mallory Mallory and Millie are foster fails and have officially been adopted! They won me over immediately on the ride home. Mallory settled in instantly and rolled over for belly rubs. Millie was more nervous but quickly snuggled into my lap as close as possible. Despite everything they had been through they both trusted me and bonded right away. My husband took a little longer for them to warm up but as soon as they learned he was the main care taker and source of food, they were soon his shadow as well. We couldnâÂÂt have asked for a better fit. Millie and Mallory have such intense bursts of puppy energy and are up for anything. They go with us everywhere and weâÂÂre even planning a camping trip with them once the weather warms up. Then after burning off the excess energy they just want to snuggle in for their cuddles. We love them so much and couldnâÂÂt be happier to be their forever home. Congratulations Millie and Mallory!

McGuyver MacGyver is a special little guy who has finally found his well-deserved forever home! MacGyver unfortunately came into rescue with a lot of baggage from his past. He was passed around from home to home, waiting for someone to call him their own. When MacGyver first came into foster with me, it was evident that he had a lot of learning to do in order to reach his fullest potential. I could tell right away that MacGyver was a very bright pup and it proved to be true when we started training. He picked up obedience commands and behavioral concepts very quickly and proved to be very driven to learn new skills. We spent these past few months really honing in on his behavioral issues to gear him up for adoption. It was not easy on either part but MacGyver woke up each morning ready to tackle the day's challenge. After screening many potential adopters and feeling a sense of lost hope for finding the right home for his needs, Jenn and Brock seemed to fall from the sky into our laps. Jenn and Brock fell in love with MacGyver and saw him for all of his wonderful qualities. That being said, they also understood the path MacGyver has been through thus far and were willing to do whatever it took to get this boy a forever home! We were extremely lucky that Jenn and Brock live so close to my home where MacGyver was being fostered. Since we live so close to each other, I am looking forward to seeing MacGyver again soon for grooming, training, pet sitting, and more fun! Congratulations McGuyver!!!
Candace I had to say goodbye to my sweet Candi about a month ago. It has taken me this long to find the words to write her success story. Candi is the sweetest little girl and it is taking me longer to adjust being without her. When Candace came into foster, we werenât sure she would get much attention because of her diabetes. After 5 months, I was starting to accept that there might be a possibility she wouldât be adopted. Out of the blue, I received a call from Ginny and John Danko. Ginny wanted to know everything about Candi. As we talked, I could hear the excitement in her voice. So I brought up her diabetes, and before I could ask if she had any concerns⦠Ginny said, âitâs no problem!â It turns out Ginny and John have been volunteering for SAYR since 2017. They fostered Winston and fostered / adopted Twinkee where both needed a little extra care. They have also fostered for other organizations throughout the years so I knew they might be a good match. When I mentioned Ginny and John to the rescue, they could not have received nicer praises! There was no question that they would be perfect for Candi. Ginny, John and Cammie (their fur baby) made the 3 hour trip to meet Candi and it could not have gone any better. It did not take Candi long to warm up and join them on the couch for a few pets and snuggles. We wanted to make sure Candi and Cammie were OK walking with each other and to no surprise, it was like they knew each other forever. That was all I had to see⦠we knew the next part would be difficult so we said our goodbyes. I was happy Ginny texted me pictures on their way home which helped reassure me she would be just fine. We text regularly and I get to see what a wonderful life Candi has with Ginny, John and Cammie. Thank you Candi for allowing me to foster you and for leaving a huge paw print in my heart! Thank you Ginny and John for loving her and giving her the best home ever! Congratulations Candace!!!
Oden We had to say goodbye to our little boy Oden (being held by his Dad) today but we know that he is going to a wonderful home with his new mom, dad and SAYR alumni Luna. I fostered both Luna and Oden and I knew that this would be a good match. They are the same size, just a few months apart in age and have the same puppy personalities. Oden will have a nice yard to play in with Luna and will get lots of love and attention, which he deserves. Thank you Deb and Bill for opening up your hearts and home to another SAYR pup. Congratulations Oden!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
