Dickins

Drooper & Dickens were adopted today. Jackie McGill came down from New Jersey to meet the boys and of course feel in love 😊 Jackie is a single retired teacher with lots of love to give. She loved the idea of two dogs so a bonded pair seemed like a no brainer. She was also looking for older dogs, so these two 10 year olds were the perfect fit. Drooper & Dickens are best friends, super sweet and cute as can be. They love to snuggle together in their bed, groom each other and run around in the yard. Their owner had to surrender them because he was going into a nursing facility but I know he would be pleased with their forever home. While Sara and I had the boys, they had several dental extractions, they each lost 1.5# and we were able to clear up Drooper’s skin issues. They are now healthy, happy and ready to live their best life! Jackie couldn’t be more excited to adopt them and was quick to jump in her car and come down when their original adoption fell through. I know she will give them an amazing home and they will all be very happy together! Congratulations Dickins!!!

Silver Bella

Although it broke my heart to see her go as we have had her since November, our "Bella Cinderella" (as we called her) was adopted today by David and Joan. From the moment they walked through our door, we knew they were the right ones for this special needs little girl. All four babies greeted them as the stepped in and surrounded them and begged to be first for attention. "Bella" was right up there in line and got to give kisses first. They fell in love with her immediately. David and Joan had adopted Penny from SAY previously and just lost her in February 2020. Penny was also a special needs dog with many medical issues including diabetes and eventually going blind among other things. They are well equipped to handle Bella's needs and I have no doubt they will spoil her and love her. They came totally prepared with a new dog safety seat and blanket. We spent 4 hours for this meet and greet as I wanted them to see Bella and know how she reacts and talks to you when she wants something, especially food, which she is ALWAYS hungry for (the meds do that to her). Bella could not give enough kisses, she was all over them going from one to the other which was a really good sign to us. I am so happy for her, but I will be stopping in for visits when I am in PA. Did I say I wouldn't cry???.....well, I did, but really I was thrilled to find her such a great forever home. There were so many calls and emails and I answered each and every one and returned all calls. Her new family had to be perfect and we hit the jackpot with David and Joan. I've already heard back from David that Bella was a trooper on the ride back to PA and slept most of the way, and they sent me a picture of Bella giving Joan lots of kisses. This is truly a happy ending. Congratulations Silver Bella!!!

Joe Joe

Joe Joe (now known as Calvin/Cal) was officially adopted on July 17 by the Gaeta family. Although dad, brother and new fur-baby sister, Chloe, were unable to be part of the pickup, we had all gotten together a week earlier for the meet and greet. And once the Gaetas returned from vacation, Karen and daughter Hailey (who was the driving force finding Save A Yorkie) arrived to bring Joe Joe home. It wasn’t long before it became apparent that Hailey was Joe Joe’s favorite snugglee in the room, and we knew this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Papers were signed, routines discussed, belongings were given and it was time for the always bittersweet goodbyes. The next day, Karen sent a picture of Joe Joe with Chloe snoozing together on the couch and let us know that Joe Joe had had a good night sleeping with Hailey in her room. It’s good to know that happy endings can still occur during these crazy times. Congratulations Joe Joe!!!

Willy

The little guy had been with us since February 28th and had adapted very well considering he had gone through a Dorsal Laminectomy procedure in January as well as neutering/dental surgery in May. He is a trooper. Many thanks to Save-A-Yorkie for the support and effort put into Willy since December 2019. Rob and Kelly have been looking forward to providing a forever home to Willy - who now has an older Yorkie brother, Chewie. Just before heading home we captured a snapshot: Rob holding Willy, and Kelly holding Chewie! Congratulations Willy!!!
