Benjamin

Benjamin is at his furever home with Barry and Pat. They thought they wanted a little girl Yorkie, but Benjamin stole their heart. Smart Yorkie parents that they are, they arrived with a new soft squeaky toy and immediately won Benjamin's heart! Barry and Pat played with Benjamin and enjoyed his quick lap drive-bys so he could give kisses. While Julia and Pat started the paperwork, Benjamin, Barry and Chuck went for a quick walk. Once the papers were in order, we took a quick picture, loaded up the Explorer with Benjamin's belongings, being sure to send him off with his favorite old toys and his new toy as well. Barry put Benjamin's bed in the backseat, lifted Benjamin up into the Explorer and they were off. About two hours later, Benjamin was checking out his new territory and proved us right that he traveled well. We wish Barry and Pat many years of enjoyment watching Benjamin's antics and being the lucky recipients of the kisses, he just must share! Congratulations Benjamin!!!

Wesson

Wes was adopted Saturday, July 4 by Donna. Donna has been waiting 3 weeks to adopt this little boy because of a previously scheduled vacation. However, it was worth the wait!!! I’d been sending her pictures & videos all along but Wes was even cuter and sweeter in person. Wes is going to be so happy being an only dog and since his neuter his behavior has dramatically improved. All he wants is to be with his person and Donna can’t wait to spoil him. Wes has separation anxiety but since Donna is retired, she has lots of time to spend with him. Wes loves belly rubs and is constantly running around the yard and then throwing himself on the ground in front of your feet for a bellyrub! In fact, he took to Donna & Dan right away and got lots of belly rubs while getting to know them. He’s going to have a wonderful life with Donna in Newark, DE. Congratulations Wesson!!!

Smith

Smitty was adopted Saturday, June 27 by Eileen. We made the decision the split Smitty and Wes because their behavior together was not good. They seemed like they weren’t so much bonded as they were co-depend and jealous of each other. We had the dog’s completely separated for the last 10 days Smitty was with us, as he was recovering from a spleen removal. Luckily, the biopsy results were fine and both boys were doing much better without the other. Eileen drove down from Central Pennsylvania on Friday night and met Smitty; it was love at first sight! She stayed and revisted and they got to know each other, she returned early Saturday morning to take her boy home! I walked Smitty over to the kitchen to see Wes one last time, they both started growling and snarling, LOL. She said Smitty was an angel for the car ride home and they even stopped to see her son halfway and Smitty was excellent with their dog. He had his stitches removed Tuesday and the vet said he was in excellent health. He still needs some basic socialization training but Eileen says he’s a quick learner & a good listener. He has already become her shadow, sleeping in the bed with her and napping next to her on the couch after walks. Smitty is so happy and he finally has the life he deserves 😊 Congratulations Smith!!!

Thomas

Congratulations Thomas!!!

Gismo

Gismo started out with us, Julia and Chuck Sleeper, on March 16 as a foster. He was a timid little fellow at first but after a few days started patting legs for a lift up to sit in a lap. It took a couple of weeks for his real "dog" personality (sweet from the top of his head to the ends of his paws) to come out. However, by the first week of May he started barking at the neighbors and was never late for a treat opportunity, breakfast or dinner. He is the same age as our dog Frodo, so their daily tempo and activity level are a good match. Gismo is an expert nap taker, lap sitter and general snuggle pup. Our daughter was totally enamored with him from day one and in just 2 months has a library of cute photos. Our son thinks Gismo is great too. So, there it is, we've joined the ranks of the Foster Failure Brigade and are glad to be in such good company! Gismo will be with us FUREVER!!!!! Congratulations Gismo!!!
