Kadee

Kadee went to her new home on Saturday! Patrizia and her sister came to meet Kadee after a 5 hour drive from Virginia. They loved her immediately and Kadee sat in their lap as we were going over paperwork. Kadee then took the long drive back with them staying up the entire time! I thought my little girl must have been thinking what is going on??? Patrizia sent me a photo when they got home of Kadee exploring their beautiful backyard! She told me Kadee loves playing back there and runs all around exploring. She plays and watches tv with Patrizia's mom and has all the attention on her....which is something Kadee always insists on. One particular thing Kadeee now enjoys is when she is served her food she can eat a little....walk away for a while...and then go back and eat some more. When she was here with my two girls she would eat as fast as she could because as soon as my dogs finished their food they were right behind her watching. I had to stand in between like the food police to make sure they didn't chase her away from her food. It's been only 4 days that Kadee is in her new home and she is eating, sleeping and playing like she has been there forever! I miss her terribly but overjoyed that Kadee has a wonderful life ahead of her. Congratulations Kadee!!!

Marlie

Marlie has found her forever home! She has been adopted by a couple who appeared to fall in love with her at first sight and vice versa. Marlie brought out her toy to show them and I knew that this was a going to be a good fit. Candy and Gary left with big smiles on their faces and a tiny dog on Candys lap. Best wishes for a long and happy life Marlie. We love you. Congratulations Marlie!!!

Morty

Morty (aka Jaxx) has found his forever home. After many calls and messages about Jaxx, Mary Ellen & Bruce came for the meet and greet along with their son and daughter-in-law. They were greeted at the door with great enthusiasm by Jaxx as well as our two yorkies. Bruce & Mary Ellen were great and Jaxx thought so too. He felt very comfortable sitting alongside Bruce on the couch and climbing into their laps for attention. We all spent some time getting to know each other and Jaxx approved. He went happily with them for the car ride to his new home. We have shared information back and forth daily and he is settling in well. We all have agreed to stay in touch. As he was the first to go to another home, it has been a little hard on us but knowing what a great home he has and the wonderful family he is with makes it a bit easier. We do miss him though. Congratulations Morty!!!

Connor

Connor has officially been adopted by the Carlisle family and will now be known by his given name of Cody! Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart and this was certainly the case with Cody and our family. There were many conversations between my husband and me wondering if we could keep him, but ultimately we knew that he needed a home where he would get more time and attention than our work schedules - and our two current dogs – would allow. I knew when I got the email from Karen and Ryan Carlisle and read over their application, that I had found that home. Karen told me their hearts were still broken from recently losing their beloved Yorkie rescue, Bentley, to kidney disease after 7.5 years, but she then confessed “there is something about this sweet boy you are fostering that made me fill out that form and reach out to you. ”We are so thankful to SAYR for giving us the gift of time with Cody and to be part of his life story. We will miss him and love him always but we are so happy that Cody is now blessed with a family that will comfort him, love him, and give him the security of knowing that he has found his forever home! They will give him the best life possible and I know he’s on to bigger and better things! We are so happy for him and his new family! Congratulations Connor!!!
