Handsome Prince is available for adoption. Handsome Prince is a two-year old, 15 pound, very friendly pup. He enjoys meeting new people with an energetic tail wag and a great “come-pet-me” look. He is wary of strange dogs on a walk but tends to hide rather than make a fuss. Prince walks well on his leash and loves to run around in his fenced-in yard. He sometimes needs to be coaxed back in with the promise of a treat. (As he is a puppy, his adoptive family must have a fenced yard.) He thoroughly enjoys his toys…squeaky, crinkly, NylaBone-ish….it doesn’t matter. He likes to pick up two at a time and carry them around. He will race around the house chasing our female adoptee if she has a toy that Prince wants…but he will not challenge our male adoptee who is half Prince’s size. Handsome Prince is house-trained but also knows how to use pee-pads when necessary. Apparently, he loves music and will jump up on the piano bench when his human sits down to play. He eats well, sleeps quietly through the night in his little enclosure, and waits patiently for his humans to let him out for his first morning trip to the yard. Prince may not be good with children who may not respect his boundaries. He will give a warning if awakened unexpectedly or an attempt to physically move him when he doesn’t want to move. He rides well in the car. When we travel with all three dogs, we like to crate Prince to avoid shenanigans while we drive. Once in his crate, he immediately lays down and remains quiet, even during multi-hour trips. He likes to be brushed, but doesn’t realize that rolling on his back doesn’t really help. Prince doesn’t seem to care about thunder or fireworks, staying calm throughout the noise. Handsome Prince is staying with Mary Anne and Michael in New Canaan, CT.
